And you need to change your oil. Bring your oil inside for a few hours. That 5w-30 will pour like molasses. Don’t be me Oppo.
Thankfully I had the foresight to run my car up to operating temperature beforehand. It warmed up the garage and my hands.

I changed the oil on the little Ford tractor on Christmas eve, it was only about 12, as opposed to negative 14, but 5w-40 Rotela T6 is full synthetic, it pours just fine ;)
now if only full synthetic trans-hydraulic fluid weren’t so damn expensive. I’m finding the biggest obstacle to getting the tractor going in this weather is the molasses in the hydraulic system...

It is amazing how much the temp affects fluids.

yeah, natural petroleum-based oils are not friends to cold... I just looked up Amsoil full-synthetic trans-draulic fluid again: $12/qt or $225/5gal. Ouch. The 1720 takes 7.5 gallons.

Did mine just the other day. Bought the oil (5W-30) & filter, and changed them when I got home. The old oil was nice and warm, and the new oil didn’t get a chance to get cold before I poured it in.

That’s efficient!

You make me glad it was 7-10 F when I changed the oil last night. After warming the car the old oil drained slowly, and the new oil also filled slowly.
